Gaz_1989 9,539
I have seen the news today with harsher sentences for people who's dangerous dogs attack or kill people. But I am struggling to find anything about if this is an intruder in your home. Has anyone got any facts about this? If my dog attacks or kills a burglar then am I going to get jailed? It sounds very bizarre if so. Reckon I would bury the c**t in the back garden and forget to report it

Outlaw Pete 2,224
If my dog attacks or kills a burglar then am I going to get jailed? It sounds very bizarre if so. Yep. That's about the long and short of it, mate. Only, I believe they've just strengthened the Protection for the violator. Was it " Skycat " put up a petition, I think it was, about this, a while ago? Something to the effect that they were tweaking the DDA UK, and making it even More f**king ridiculous. Hey ho. I'd be happier living with This approach
dare 1,103
If your the type to worry about what happen with a dog biting them your not the sort to be digging holes. Not to sure what will happen but long as the dog isn't killed who cares.

Isnt the fact that the dog is in its own home enough? FFS the law is fecked.
forest of dean redneck 12,023
I've got a couple of signs saying "guard dog" if an intruder jumps over the fence they WILL get bit the dog is locked away during the day or put on a chain to prevent any problems.A few years ago now, when I lived in the forest of dean I was talking to a old school policeman at ours, and we had couple big dogs and the signs up etc,and he forewarned me about how the law was changing more in favour of the burglar/trespasser ,and how I could get taken to court if a dog bit someone on my property,he advised me to take the signs down, and if anything happened ,Oh the dog bit someone oh dear it's never done that before its just a family pet. Now days your better off with one of the yappy small watchdog breeds and deal with the intruder yourself, than have a man mangler.

I think the sort who dont worry about such things are the sort that just got the DDA amended
